Miniature Chest of Drawers

This miniature, handmade chest of drawers was made from wood dating to 1793 and was taken from a home in Claremont, NH (settled in 1764). While the original home is no longer there, the inscription on the back tells the story of its provenance. Note: The apron at bottom is loose, as is the top piece (backsplash). Lots of character to the top. L-shaped joints at front of drawers. Original glass knobs. Drawers are lined with worn green felt. Perfect for jewelry or keepsakes!  17"h including backsplash, 14 3/4" wide x 9.5" deep. Inscription reads, in part: Made from lumber taken from the old barn(?) 97(?) Sullivan Street, Claremont NH built in 1793.
