Hollywood Regency Italian Trumeau Mirror

Gilded mirror with decorative panel featuring three cherubs or putti. Carved shell and floral motif on a gilded crest. Trumeau is French for wall between two openings. Created during the Regency Period (1811-1820), these mirrors were hung between existing windows to create additional light within a room. Their popularity rose again during the Hollywood Regency period (1920s-1950s).  26.5” x 50”

Condition: Consistent with age. Small chip at top of shell. Craquelure on panel. Slight chipping of gold paint along bottom trim. This mirror is not overly heavy and can be easily hung on a bolt.
